Happy 6 Year Anniversary!

(Photography by Banks Photography 2003) My first bits of inspiration that I wanted to be a photographer came from the happiness I had when I got my wedding pictures back. To be able to catch that day, that time, those moments is incredible! Thank you to those folks who have let me give them that feeling =)

Happy Anniversary to us!! Six, 6, s-i-x! We look like babies in these pictures... well, we kinda were babies, who gets married at 19 and 21! Us, crazy love birds, decided to say our vows and start our lives together 6 years ago. Those years have been what you would imagine a marriage to be. Overall, we've been blessed with our love, faith, and happiness. I couldn't say every day has been perfect, cause Lord knows that is not the case. In 6 years we have grown and overcome a lot of things together. In year 1, we moved to Colorado, where we knew no one but each other. It was a wonderful year, growing our love and friendship even more. We grew up that year, being away from what we knew was home, the friends we've been accustomed to, and a big change in our every day lives. We got out first born- I mean, first dog, Rocky (full name: Gaylor's Rocky Mountain Bubba, hehe). We became doggy parents and our little family was beginning, and so was our story. Year 2, still in Colorado, but we've made friends, made memories, settled in to our roles and husband and wife. Year 3 was different- I made a career move, Josh had a deployment, and we made it! Yes, we were challenged this year. We had some difficult times, but our love persevered. Year 4, definitely the hardest year thus far. Moving from a place we loved to Virginia Beach was not what I had hoped. Dealing with Josh being here and there due to Navy. What we didn't know is that God had a plan for us. We found out we were 'expecting', and our family was about to grow again, what a surprise! Year 4 continued to be a challenge-both personally, and situationally- deployments and layoffs what fun! Year 5 continue to be new and taught us a ton about relationships & love, in hard times and joyful ones, what it means to be married and having a life long commitment. Year 5 brought us Caelyn Faith Gaylor- her middle name, Faith, is a middle name she and my Nana share, but also is a tribute to the Faith we, as a couple, have put to God. Many of you don't understand what a year 2007 was for Josh and I!! Caelyn was a blessing, a living proof that Josh and I are meant to be together forever. Our family now became 4 (including Rocky!). The 5th year did bring us back home to Ohio. Back home brought it's own 'new' situations. Once again we're in a 'new' place- finding jobs, finding a home, having a family, and for the first time in 5 years being within a few minutes of our family and friends. I couldn't imagine it not being this way. Having a toddler now gets in the way of what used to be so common and un-cherished: going out, sleeping in, seeing a movie, a weekend away... Sometimes the simple things are what we crave! We make it work though- Sarah and Josh time is always a good time. We've found that the Wii, Netflix, a pizza, or a backyard fire are things we can do without a babysitter and still get the most of each other! But, if you offer to baby sit, we'll take it!! Which brings us to year 6, here we are. Hopefully this year brings more of the things we cherish the most and have been fortunate enough to have. Happiness, Laughter, Smiles, Memories, all that mushy gushy stuff I love. =)

Crazy bits of life... Wife, Mother, Photographer, Student

Wrapping up my final quarter of photography classes 08-09, keeping track of assignments, bookings, & accounting, and the rest of life has certainly kept me busy! Too busy!! Although I am learning a lot with school, and have been on the Dean's List my entire "adult" try at college, I think I am going to take a break! 34 credit hours this past year while keeping up with the family, working full time, and running a part time business... WOW. I am proud of myself, yet so relieved to have summer off (if you consider putting my website galleries together 'off' and working as a 2nd shooter for another photographer 'off'- haha...). The fall brings it's share of 'work'- 3 weddings booked from the end of August -October! I don't think I could ever know what to do with myself if I didn't have at least 3 things going on at any given moment, so I've determined I will continue with self education in photography and art and hopefully pick up my formal education when I am just a photographer, not a photographer with another full time job. ;) Thanks to everyone who puts up with me doing so much- especially Josh and Caelyn, you both deserve major kudos.
